Bates Green is also home to the famous Arlington Bluebell Walk.
During the bluebell season in spring our wood, Beatons Wood, puts on a fantastic display of colour with carpets of white wood anemones followed by vistas of bluebells.
Since 1972 the Arlington Bluebell Walk and Farm Trail has developed into six interesting walks over three working farms raising money for local charities. The walk through the wood is 2/3 mile (1100 meters) and suitable for wheelchair users. At Primrose Farm there is a horse livery. There are ewes and lambs, and female pygmy goats with their kids, for children to see close up.
Refreshments are served in the Bluebell Barn and provided by the duty charity.
While the Arlington Bluebell Walk is open, Bates Green Garden is also open every day.
We run a yearly photo competition covering both the Arlington Bluebell Walk and the Garden, with winning images exhibited at Bates Green.
